Photography in the Modern South: What does the "modern south" mean? For me, it means tradition with a twist. Think front porches, comfort food, bowties, nice manners...meets urban farming, pinterest projects, thrift store shopping, breaking the rules...and top it off with a little splash of "bless their heart." I live in Charleston (definitely the modern south), but am also available to travel worldwide.

Downtown Charleston Engagement: Stephanie & Dave

I had so much fun photographing Stephanie and Dave last week for their session. These two share a love for ice skating, (figure skating and hockey)…and they got engaged on the ice too! Stephanie is so quick to laugh (one of my favorite qualities in a person!), and we wandered around Hampton Park and downtown catching up about wedding planning and me being impressed by Stephanie’s twirling abilities. 😉 Plus I’m pretty sure we found Scabbers the rat in an alley off of Queen Street. (If you get that reference, we will be friends!) Hope y’all enjoy this downtown Charleston engagement!

Island House Wedding: Erin & Aaron

Erin and Aaron had a gorgeous Island House wedding last weekend and I’m so excited to share it with you! If the amount that I cried equates to how great this wedding was, it was pretty darn great! 😉 Despite thunderstorms all morning, the weather decided to cooperate and these two got to have the outdoor ceremony they hoped for. The gorgeous colorful florals, sweet moments and golden sunset made for an amazing day!

Charleston Bridal Session: Erin

Erin and Aaron got married last weekend, so I can finally share her bridal portraits! I had so much fun wandering around downtown with her and her mom, and although we got photobombed by a horse and some bicyclists we somehow missed Bill Murray for the Charleston photobomb trifecta. 😉 Enjoy!

Citadel Beach Club Wedding: Kristen & Kevin

The joy at Kristen and Kevin’s Citadel Beach Club wedding was so contagious that I have been smiling like an idiot at my computer screen while editing their photos. Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Caitlin & Richard

Caitlin and Richard’s spring Magnolia Plantation wedding was full of laughter and flowers- in the invitations, dresses, decor and venue! The azaleas were so insanely beautiful I was doing a happy dance all day long. These two are so kind, and the fact that they giggled all through their ceremony made it super joyful. ELM events designed a gorgeous al fresco dinner under the oak trees and twinkle lights and the guests danced and dined on southern fare for the rest of the night. Congrats Caitlin and Richard!
