Photography in the Modern South: What does the "modern south" mean? For me, it means tradition with a twist. Think front porches, comfort food, bowties, nice manners...meets urban farming, pinterest projects, thrift store shopping, breaking the rules...and top it off with a little splash of "bless their heart." I live in Charleston (definitely the modern south), but am also available to travel worldwide.

Boone Hall Plantation Wedding: Rebecca & David

Rebecca and David had such a gorgeous fall wedding at Boone Hall earlier this month! The blush, burgundy and eggplant color palette was so pretty against the oak trees and iron gates. There were so many fun details at this wedding…the watercolor invitation liner, a live wedding painter, and one of my favorite things was that they incorporated their pup Peanut by having her photo carried down the aisle! 🙂 I hope you enjoy this Boone Hall Plantation wedding as much as I did!

William Aiken Wedding: Ryanne & Drew

Ryanne and Drew had such an amazing wedding at the William Aiken House last weekend! These two were so calm all day and had such a sweet first look! The lavender and deep purple florals were such a fun color palette against the gorgeous rooms, and the guests enjoyed dancing under the moon since we lucked out with perfect weather! (Fun fact…the cake looked so perfect someone thought it was fake and put their finger in it haha! Oops!) Hope you enjoy this William Aiken wedding as much as I did!

Charleston Engagement: Caitlin & Richard

I met Caitlin and Richard at Hampton Park last week (back when it was ‘summer’ and still 90 degrees haha) and I had so much fun walking around with them! These two agreed that we should rent a bike to use for some photos and I’m so glad we did! I love how fun the bike photos turned out. 🙂 Enjoy!

Lowndes Grove Bridal Session: Ryanne

Now that this lovely lady is married, I can share some of Ryanne’s gorgeous Lowndes Grove bridal session! This plantation is a favorite of mine for bridal portraits, since it has beautiful spots both inside and out. Charleston Engagement: Virginia and Drew

I’m so excited to share this downtown Charleston engagement session with y’all! I met Virginia and Drew back in January at Anna and Sam’s wedding, when they were both in the wedding party. Virginia has a vibrant, bubbly personality that I loved, so when we decided to work together after she got engaged, I was pumped! We laughed the entire time we walked around Charleston last weekend – these two have been together for a few years so they are super comfortable with each other! I also found out that Drew is a very talented boat-builder! (Seriously these boats are gorgeous!). Can’t wait for their wedding this winter!
