It is always so lovely when you know two people separately and then after spending time with them together as a couple, you like them even more. Jaimee and Travis are two wonderful and kind individuals on their own, but it was amazing to see how well they balance each other and bring out the best in the other person. I would say Jaimee is not someone who is easily impressed…which makes it all the more fun that Travis won her over and makes her laugh so much. They bonded over a shared love of coffee and the New York Times through their relationship, which we incorporated into their session. When I commented that the cloudy weather during their engagement shoot suited their personalities better (which after jokingly asking me if “I thought they were gloomy?!”, they agreed), I meant that it represented their contemplative and thoughtful natures. I couldn’t help but smile while working on these photos. Hope you enjoy them as well!

Beautiful pictures. Congratulations to both of you got engaged. God bless both of you. 🙂 Happy Wednesday everyone! A common question I get as a photographer is regarding whether or not to do a first look. Sometimes a couple has very firm opinions about it, but often many people are on the fence about whether a first look would be right for them. People wonder if it “ruins” the walk down the aisle for the bride since the groom has already seen her. Personally, I don’t think it does….there is something different about the moment a bride walks down the aisle in front of her family and friends from when the bride and groom share an intimate moment with just the two of them. Often, the groom has a more honest reaction to his bride when it is just them, rather than standing in front of a large crowd. All that to say….I firmly believe that doing a first look (or not) should be the decision of the couple, but I thought I would share a few favorite first looks (and groom reactions as the bride walks down the aisle) for you today!
Working on these photos certainly made me ready for Christmas! I had so much fun wandering around downtown Franklin with Jocelyn and Greg earlier this month! These two laugh a lot together, and I just loved the way Greg couldn’t take his eyes off Jocelyn! So romantic…

My pleasure Kathy! They were so fun to work with! 🙂 I had the pleasure of photographing this awesome couple a few weeks ago in the 12 South neighborhood of Nashville (where they had their first date!). To make things even more fun, they brought along their dog Lenny…who technically is the reason they met! Just another reason to love dogs…;) At the end of the shoot, Megan commented that despite being a bit nervous leading up to it, that their session had actually been a lot of fun. I laughed….engagement shoots should definitely be fun, not stressful! Can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year! Enjoy the photos!
