Photography in the Modern South: What does the "modern south" mean? For me, it means tradition with a twist. Think front porches, comfort food, bowties, nice manners...meets urban farming, pinterest projects, thrift store shopping, breaking the rules...and top it off with a little splash of "bless their heart." I live in Charleston (definitely the modern south), but am also available to travel worldwide.

Terian Farms Wedding: Heather and John Paul

“Home.” That was the word John Paul used in his vows to describe the way that Heather made him feel when he was around her. (I may or may not have teared up during that part of the ceremony.) These two are as sweet and genuine as they come, and their rustic-glam wedding at Terian Farms was the perfect celebration of their two personalities joining together. Heather is quick to laugh and cares a lot for her friends and family, and John Paul is a true southern gentleman (he called me ma’am when we first met!). I had a great time documenting their day!

Atlanta Wedding: Carrie & Ryan

I am finishing up Carrie and Ryan’s wedding photos today and am so excited to share some of them with you! These two tied the knot in Atlanta a few weeks ago, and the entire day was full of laughter and joy. It is always so much fun to photograph a friend’s wedding, and this was no exception!

One of my favorite things about their wedding ceremony was the exit. Instead of rushing back down the aisle, Carrie and Ryan went very slowly, hugging and shaking hands with their family and friends as they walked by. I loved it!

Nashville Engagement Photography: Meagan & Nick

I got connected with Meagan through the lovely Kim, and had a great time grabbing coffee with her and Nick to chat about their wedding and engagement session. When they told me they both loved going hiking and spending time outdoors, I knew they would be up for a little adventuring during their session. Cheers to Meagan for wading in a creek with a dress on and laying in the grass for me! 😉 Love it when couples are willing to try new things. Enjoy!

Nashville Wedding: Julia & Troy

“In two words… we fit.”

When Troy gave a speech at their reception (in two different languages no less), that was the line that stuck out to me most. And it is so true for this couple! Julia lights up when Troy is around (even my second shooter commented on how happy she seemed when she was with him!). They got married in June at Traveller’s Rest Plantation and had an intimate ceremony and reception with their closest friends and family. Troy, Julia and Troy’s family travelled all the way from New Zealand for this Nashville destination wedding! Enjoy-

Nashville Engagement: Julia & Troy

These two are married, and I am so happy to share some of their engagement photos with you! We did Julia and Troy’s engagement shoot a week before their wedding (so it is never too late for engagement photos!) at BiCentennial park. Considering they came all the way from New Zealand, we had to include a few shots with the globe statue as well. 😉 Enjoy!
