Photography in the Modern South: What does the "modern south" mean? For me, it means tradition with a twist. Think front porches, comfort food, bowties, nice manners...meets urban farming, pinterest projects, thrift store shopping, breaking the rules...and top it off with a little splash of "bless their heart." I live in Charleston (definitely the modern south), but am also available to travel worldwide.

Nashville Wedding: Laura & Justin

Laura and Justin got married at the lovely Green Door Gourmet a few weeks ago, and I am so excited to share their wedding with y’all! Even though the day was hot, it was full of amazing details and lots of laughs! These two were surrounded with a lot of wonderful friends and family who were incredibly happy to share their wedding day with them. They were all in tears, and it was so sweet to see how much they cared about Laura.Laura is amazing at calligraphy, and she did an incredible job with all the signage and decor for the ceremony and reception.“Justin, this is the last time you will ever have the upper hand…” 😉Something about a honey-badger I think? 😉Glow sticks are certainly a fun way to end a reception!

Nashville Newborn: Ruth

Baby Ruth was born on her parent’s anniversary…how perfect is that? Casey and I were roommates when we first moved to Nashville a few years ago, and we became friends with Will and his roommates shortly after. Fast forward six years and Casey married Will, I married one of Will’s roommates, and we both have babies a few months apart! So fun how friendships grow. I was so excited to get to photograph little Ruth, and I have to say, she is one gorgeous baby. Enjoy!

Nashville Engagement: Alissa & James

Oh how I love photographing dear friends. I was lucky enough to photograph James and Alissa’s proposal (much to her surprise), and I had so much fun capturing them together a few weeks ago for their engagement shoot. I have known Alissa for almost 6 years now, and she is one of the most loving, genuine, thoughtful, and funny girls I know. I have enjoyed getting to know James since they started dating, and he is as creative, thoughtful and fun-loving as Alissa. I am so glad that she has found someone that makes her happy. 🙂Best Save the Dates Ever! 😉

Nashville Engagement: Shannon & Darren

These two have such a cool story….A Canadian meets a Tennessean (turned Colorado transplant) through mutual friends…they date long distance for a few years…and then fast forward to them getting engaged under the northern lights! How awesome! I met Shannon and Darren out at Arrington Vineyards for their engagement shoot, and had so much fun getting to know them. Darren is so complimentary of Shannon…he just kept talking about how stunning and beautiful she was! Love it. Enjoy the photos and happy Tuesday!

Kim and Chris are back from their honeymoon, so I am excited to share some of their wedding photos today! These two got married at the lovely Carnton Plantation down in Franklin, and the day was filled with lots of classic Southern details like lace, peonies, monograms, and bluegrass! Enjoy…

Kim wanted to do a “first look” with her dad, and as he teared up when he saw her you could tell what a special relationship they had. So sweet!
